Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our diesel tractor fleet, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. You will apply heavy equipment experience and diesel mechanic training to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.

This role is non-exempt and pays starting at $37.26 per hour, with an ASE Master Certification bonus opportunity of $5.50 per hour and tuition/tool reimbursements. Shift differential and comprehensive benefits are included.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience performing vehicle maintenance.
• Proficient in brakes, electrical, powertrain and trailing equipment maintenance.
• Master ASE certification may substitute for additional experience.
• Proficient computer skills and onboard diagnostics knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify and perform preventive maintenance on tractors, trailers and forklifts.
• Perform advanced diagnostics and required component repairs or rebuilds.
• Maintain safe operation, document work and complete reports.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced technicians and mentor others.
