Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair our fleet of diesel tractors, trailers, forklifts, and related equipment. The role requires hands-on heavy equipment experience or diesel mechanic education and emphasizes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable operations.

Starting pay is $30.49 per hour, with earning enhancements such as a $5.50 per hour raise for ASE Master Certification and additional benefits including tool reimbursement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or GED), preferred.
• One year experience maintaining vehicles or completion of FedEx Freight Apprentice Program.
• One or more Medium/Heavy Truck ASE Certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.
• Valid driver's license may be required depending on assignment.
• Knowledge of testing equipment, gauges and vehicle troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify trouble sources and makes adjustments for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians in performing maintenance and repairs.
• Ensures proper documentation of maintenance reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections of equipment and documents the work.
• Performs paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
