Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to oversee a maintenance shop and lead a team of technicians in preventive maintenance and repair of trucks, containers, and heavy equipment. The role focuses on safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient scheduling of repairs.

The successful candidate will guide technicians, ensure quality control, and manage inventory and budgets while maintaining high safety standards and adherence to company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; ASE certifications listed (T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T2, Master) emphasized.
• Experience: 3 years in maintenance with heavy equipment; 1 year supervisory experience and familiarity with DOT/OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and lead the work group to ensure safe, efficient, timely repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor performance and report to management; implement process improvements as needed.
• Conduct daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and training; manage hiring/termination decisions with HR.
• Oversee inventory control and budget within approval levels; ensure compliance with safety standards.
