Job summary

Genuine Parts Company is seeking a driven Transportation Coordinator for its NAPA Auto Parts Private Fleet in Alaska. The role focuses on coordinating shipments, communicating with carriers, and tracking performance to ensure timely delivery.

Responsibilities include scheduling, issue resolution, cost analysis, and reporting, along with yard and equipment coordination to maintain smooth operations. Strong TMS and MS Office skills required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain coordination.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in TMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work under pressure and solve problems quickly.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and best practices.
• One year forklift or two years hostler/dock equipment experience.
• High school diploma; logistics-related degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate transportation schedules for shipments.
• Communicate with carriers, drivers, vendors, and customers to arrange pickup and delivery.
• Track shipments and update stakeholders on delivery times.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Maintain records of shipments and transportation costs.
• Resolve delays, damage, or loss and find solutions.
• Collaborate with DCs, carriers, and customer service to streamline shipping.
• Analyze transportation costs and propose efficiency improvements.
• Prepare reports on transportation activities and performance metrics.
• Keep the yard organized by positioning trailers and managing traffic flow.
• Work with location team on equipment assignment and movement.
• Complete dock paperwork and perform hostler duties as needed.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and McLeod; troubleshoot system issues.
