Job summary

U.S. Xpress is seeking a Fleet Leader for the Ellenwood terminal. The role oversees Driver Leaders and driver teams to ensure peak performance and a seamless driver and customer experience.

You will manage schedules, monitor KPI performance, and coach teams to drive safe, efficient operations. Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and 3+ years in Operations (customer service, fleet management, or load planning).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 3+ years in Operations including Customer Service, Fleet Management, or Load Planning.
• Knowledge of DOT hours of service and how they apply to a Driver.
• XPM / Qtops (AS-400) usage knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the activities of Driver Leaders and their teams to ensure top performance and smooth driver and customer experience.
• Manage driver work schedules including holidays and sick days for all employees.
• Monitor employee and Driver performance through KPI and soft-skill metrics.
• Coach, mentor and document performance improvements.
• Manage Driver performance while promoting safe operations.
• Monitor freight assigned to Drivers to ensure high levels of service.
• Lead with strong work ethic and integrity; cover other needs as required.
• Monitor KPI’s for P&L, fuel management, and utilities.
