U.S. Xpress in Markham, IL, is seeking a Driver Leader to supervise 30–50 drivers, ensure safety and on-time service, and drive driver satisfaction. The role requires strong people-management skills, experience in driver-facing roles, and collaboration across departments.

The position is on-site at the CHICAGO USX TERMINAL with standard daytime hours. Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, and 2+ years in driver or customer-facing

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience required.
• Equivalent years of experience defined as one year of professional experience for each year of college requested.

Responsibilities

• Supervise driver performance according to company policies, DOT regulations, and all relevant rules.
• Directly supervise multiple drivers at any given time (new hires, off-truck drivers, training support).
• Ensure driver satisfaction and on-time service.
• Address issues and disputes for drivers while promoting safe operations.
• Manage driver capacity and ensure fleet performance against KPI targets.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to uphold mission and core values.
• Attend meetings/trainings and share input on developments and goals.
• Communicate service deviations to Customer Service promptly.
