Job summary

Werner Enterprises in the United States seeks a fleet management professional to build and maintain driver relationships and optimize driver loads. You will collaborate with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to meet service expectations and improve value for customers and Werner.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree or 2–3 years of fleet/transportation experience, with supervisory experience preferred. Strong organizational and computer/ satellite communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics) and/or two to three years of fleet management or transportation experience preferred.
• Six months to one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills, proven management ability, and skill in operating a computer terminal and satellite communications system required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships by understanding and meeting driver needs.
• Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, type of freight, miles, stops, directions, etc.
• Interface with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance and external vendors.
• Work with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and Operations Manager to maintain a full board of drivers.
• Ensure timely attendance and adherence to scheduled shifts.
