Job summary

Werner Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a transportation/fleet management professional to build driver relationships and optimize loads. You will collaborate with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and other departments to ensure smooth operations and meet customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics preferred.
• 2–3 years of fleet management or transportation experience in truckload industry preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and proven management ability; experience with computer terminals and satellite communications is required.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain driver relationships to meet needs like home time, payroll, and equipment issues.
• Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on origin, destination, freight type, miles, stops, and directions.
• Understand and align with customer dynamics and Werner's service expectations to improve value.
• Interface with departments such as billing, safety, payroll, fuel, and external vendors.
• Collaborate with Managers to maintain a full board of drivers and perform related duties as assigned.

Education

Bachelor’s degree (Business Admin, Marketing or Transportation/Logistics)

2-3 years of fleet management or transportation experience

6 months to 1 year supervisory experience

Strong organizational skills and management ability
