Job summary

Waste Pro is seeking an experienced A Technician to diagnose and repair engine, transmission, brake, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, body components on heavy and light duty trucks, including gasoline, diesel and CNG systems. Welding/fabrication may be required.

You will handle diagnostics for a fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles, maintain various makes (Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, McNeilus) and ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance with OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide drive train inspections, diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to provide general engine inspection, diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to provide transmission inspection, diagnosis and repair.
• Ability to perform outside repair inspection review.
• Ability to assess structural damage and assign repairs.
• Ability to provide assistance and guidance to shop technicians.
• CDL Class B preferred or ability to obtain.
• Aim to obtain 7 ASE certifications within 36 months.
• 3–5 years of hands-on tech experience with Class 8 vehicles, preferably waste/recycling.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety for vehicle fleets and data tools such as dossier/Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair fleet of refuse and recycling vehicles.
• Maintain and repair Mack, IHC, Autocar, Heil, McNeilus vehicles/equipment.
• Support coworkers to maintain safe, efficient operations.
• Complete all required paperwork promptly.
• Adhere to all safety policies and OSHA standards.
• Keep work area clean and compliant with regulations.
• Use vehicle computer systems to interpret failures and guide repairs.
• Perform safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
• Follow Factory Service Manuals for repairs.
