Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic/Technician to maintain and repair diesel tractors, trailers, and related equipment in Hermiston, OR. The role includes preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and body work as needed.

Starting pay is $30.70/hour with potential premium for ASE Master certification. Benefits include tool reimbursement, shift differential, and tuition reimbursement for ASE certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of vehicle maintenance experience or certificate/apprentice program completed.
• ASE certifications and Class A CDL preferred.
• Must possess necessary tools to perform tasks.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, forklifts, and other equipment.
• Performs basic diagnostics to identify problems and adjust equipment for safe operation.
• Works with other technicians on preventative maintenance and repairs.
• Documents maintenance reports in writing and electronically.
• Performs safety inspections and documents the work.
• Paint and body work on vehicles as required.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Perform other duties as required.
