Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician at Effingham Haul/LF Campus to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain the fleet to ensure safe operation. You will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and service electrical and braking systems while keeping precise records.

The role requires reading repair manuals and working with internal and external customers. Qualifications include experience with heavy trucks and diesel engines; welding is a plus, and DOT paperwork

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines; welding experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of truck components and systems.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card if needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Replace components, adjust systems, and service fluids and filters.
• Inspect electrical, air, and brake systems; ensure safety devices work.
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified and maintain records of work.
• Complete yearly DOT inspection forms and manage paperwork.
