Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician in Effingham, IL. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair fleet vehicles to keep trucks safe and on the road, following DVIRs and company policies.

The role requires reading repair manuals, performing electrical and brake system work, and maintaining accurate records. Experience with heavy diesel engines and the ability to obtain a DOT medical card is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand repair manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
• Experience repairing and maintaining heavy trucks and diesel engines; welding experience preferred.
• Ability to obtain DOT medical card as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Replace components and fluids; inspect electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified.
• Maintain records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
