Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain the fleet to ensure safety and reliability. You will perform scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs on trucks and related systems.

The role requires good mechanical aptitude, tool ownership, and the ability to read repair manuals and diagrams. Strong safety awareness and accurate record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair vehicle or component failure.
• In-depth knowledge of truck components and systems preferred.
• Experience repairing and performing maintenance on heavy trucks and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per company maintenance schedules and/or DVIRs in accordance with rules, regulations and policies.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and make necessary repairs.
• Inspect, repair, and overhaul vehicle systems such as electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Perform roadside repairs, when qualified for the type of vehicle operated.
• Maintain accurate records (time, maintenance orders, and parts usage).
• Ensure all safety devices on vehicles are in good working order.
• Professionally interact with internal and external customers with good written and verbal communication skills.
