Job summary

Rumpke is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Repair Technician at our Effingham, IL campus to service and repair the fleet, ensuring trucks stay safe and operable. You will inspect, diagnose, and repair vehicles, maintain records, and support roadside repairs when qualified.

The ideal candidate will read repair manuals, follow DOT requirements, and maintain strong written and verbal communication with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Experience using repair manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics to troubleshoot or repair.
• Ability to read and understand repair diagrams and schematics.
• Proficiency with completing pre-employment paperwork and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance of fleet vehicles per schedules and DVIRs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues and perform necessary repairs.
• Replace components, fluids, and filters as needed.
• Inspect electrical, air, and braking systems and repair as required.
• Perform roadside repairs when qualified and safe.
• Maintain accurate records of work orders and parts usage.
