Job summary

BRYAN TRUCK LINE is seeking a dedicated Truck Driver to join our flatbed team in the region. You will transport brass and copper rod on a flatbed trailer, using tarps and side kits, and you will be the face of our company during deliveries.

The role requires a Class A CDL and at least 1 year of experience, with relocation to Montpelier, OH before starting. Safety, punctuality, and customer service are essential, and compensation is based on a percentage of the load.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate truck and pull flatbed trailers with side-kits and tarps.

• Maintain accurate delivery logs including mileage and fuel usage.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting brass & copper rod on a flatbed trailer, with tarps and side kits and scrap back. This position pays a percentage of the load. Responsibilities

• Operate truck and pull flatbed trailers, with side-kits and tarps.
• Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
• Safely load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling of goods, strapping and securement.
• Navigate assigned routes efficiently while adhering to delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.
• Communicate effectively with dispatcher regarding any issues or delays.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on the vehicle and report any mechanical issues.

Skills

• Proficient in operating commercial vehicles with manual transmission.
• Experience in route driving with a strong understanding of navigation systems.
• Ability to assist in loading and unloading cargo, assure proper load securement and breakdown of side kits, and handle tarping.
• Knowledge of safety protocols related to transportation and delivery services.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for maintaining delivery records.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members effectively.
• Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred but not mandatory.
