Job summary

In-Shape Fitness is seeking a Member Experience Ambassador (MEA) to be the heartbeat of our clubs. You will foster connections with members and guests, promote our fitness philosophy, and ensure a welcoming, safe environment.

You will guide new members through FitStart, assist with app setup, give tours, and highlight amenities and promotions while recommending relevant retail items. Strong communication and service mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passionate about fitness and helping others in their fitness journey.
• Basic fitness and sales experience.
• Excellent communication and listening skills both in-person and phone.
• Demonstrated customer service experience: friendly, outgoing, and approachable disposition.
• Works well under pressure and time constraints, and displays positive behavior in all member contacts.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed.
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Bilingual skills a plus.
• Current CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire date.
• First Aid Training, required only at clubs with pool slides

Responsibilities

• Get to know each member/prospective member/guest and share In-Shape’s fitness philosophy.
• Provide membership options and help determine the best option based on their personal fitness goals.
• Support new members through FitStart program, familiarizing them with the club and equipment.
• Assist members/new members with downloading the mobile app and getting started.
• Give club tours and highlight amenities, activities, programs, and current promotions.
• Stock/Sell/Recommend retail items that align with member goals.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to member needs and processing membership changes.
• Build a welcoming, motivating member experience and exceed expectations.
• Follow In-Shape Clean Approach and safety policies.
• Resolve concerns ensuring member needs are met within guidelines.
• Maintain a safe environment per safety procedures.
• Assist in other areas of the club as needed.
• Monitor pool and slide during season and apply slide rules as required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned
