Job summary

In-Shape Fitness is seeking a proactive Member Experience Ambassador to foster strong member connections and deliver exceptional service to members, guests, and team members. The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and club engagement, while guiding members through FitStart and app onboarding.

You will promote club amenities, retail, and programs, maintaining a welcoming environment and supporting growth opportunities within the club. CPR/First Aid readiness is expected where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Passionate about fitness and helping others in their fitness journey.
• Basic fitness and sales experience.
• Excellent communication and listening skills both in-person and on the phone.
• Demonstrated customer service experience: friendly, outgoing, and approachable disposition.
• Works well under pressure and time constraints, and displays positive behavior in all member contacts.
• Basic computer skills.
• Attend and participate in required meetings and trainings as needed.
• Willing and able to work a flexible shift: evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Bilingual skills a plus.
• Current CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire date.
• First Aid Training, required only at clubs with pool slides.

Responsibilities

• Get to know each member/prospective member/guest and share In-Shape's fitness philosophy; provide membership options and determine best option based on goals.
• Support new members through the FitStart program, familiarizing them with the club and equipment.
• Assist members with downloading the mobile app and getting started.
• Give club tours and highlight amenities, activities, programs, and current promotions that align with needs and goals.
• Stock/Sell/Recommend retail items that support the member's fitness goals.
• Provide excellent customer service by responding to member needs via calls or in person and updating memberships.
• Build the In-Shape community through a welcoming, motivating member experience; exceed expectations.
• Follow and adhere to the In-Shape Clean Approach.
• Resolve concerns ensuring member needs are met and guidelines followed.
• Maintain a safe environment by implementing safety policies and procedures.
• Assist in building the In-Shape community of members.
• Assists in other areas of the club when needed.
• During the season, monitor the pool and slide as needed and enforce slide rules.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
