Job summary

The Fiscal Associate II position sits within the DSCYF Fiscal Accounting Services team and supports the State’s financial operations. You will record, review, and process financial transactions in the State’s accounting system, performing the full range of essential functions under supervision.

You will also assist with complex support work requiring knowledge of laws, rules, and procedures. Essential functions include reviewing documents, coding transactions, entering data, generating reports,

Qualifications

• Six months' experience processing accounting transactions following applicable laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Six months' experience determining compliance of financial transactions with required documentation, computations, codes, signatures, rules or regulations.
• Six months’ experience preparing financial reports such as combining and presenting financial data from multiple sources in an organized format.

Responsibilities

• Reviews forms and source documents to complete purchase orders with proper approvals.
• Verifies classification and coding of transactions.
• Enters, updates, modifies, deletes, retrieves and reports data in accounting systems.
• Monitors balances and reports discrepancies using standard calculations.
• Creates and maintains financial records and documents.
• Prepares reports and summaries on account status or data.
• Participates in recommending internal procedure improvements.
• Gathers data for higher-level staff.
• Performs general office tasks and prepares correspondence.
• May perform payroll entries in automated systems.
• Delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Communicates effectively with diverse groups across cultures and backgrounds.
