Job summary

Washington State University is seeking a Fiscal Analyst 2 to support cash management, fixed assets, notes, land and related entities. You will prepare reports, reconciliations, and audit deliverables, ensuring data accuracy across Sage and Workday while reporting to the Fiscal Manager.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and/or fiscal projections.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint) and other database apps.

Available Title(s): 143J-YN_CS_NPS - Fiscal Analyst 2 Business Title: Fiscal Analyst 2 Employee Type: Classified Position Details: The Opportunity: As the Fiscal Analyst 2, you would report to the Fiscal Manager and would be responsible for Cash, Fixed Assets, Notes, Land & Real Estate, and Related Entities. Fiscal Analyst 2 also assists in the management of all fiscal support functions. The duties include following GAAP guidelines for preparing and posting transactions to the Foundation’s general ledger systems (Sage), and WSU’s financial system (Workday); In this role you will be responsible for preparing customized reports per request; preparing reconciliations; ensuring accuracy between systems and preparing audit deliverables.

Additional Information: This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

Monthly Salary: $4,517 to $6,075 | Range 49 (Steps A-M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, which must include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting and one year of relevant professional experience; OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting financial data and preparing financial reports, statements and/or fiscal projections.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level with Microsoft software programs such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint; in addition to other database applications.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience auditing, reconciling, and analyzing data.
  • Experience working within a higher education setting.
  • Accounting experience that involves balancing large dollar accounts with large number of transactions.
  • Experience working with CRM, WSUF’s donor system.
