Job summary

TEKsystems seeks a Technical Client Service Specialist to join the on-site team in Detroit, MI. The role handles help desk requests from staff and students, diagnosing and resolving basic to moderately complex issues

via phone or remote connections. This contract position emphasizes customer service, clear communication, and accurate documentation in the helpdesk system, with opportunities to escalate to advanced support as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in a help desk or service desk role supporting staff and students.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve Level 1/1.5 IT issues over phone/remote sessions.
• Familiarity with Windows and macOS basics, Office suite, and networking fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incoming calls, tickets and remote requests for staff and students.
• Diagnose and resolve Level 1/1.5 IT issues and escalate complex cases to Level 2.
• Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions in the helpdesk system.
• Provide user-friendly guidance and basic training to users for common issues.
• Monitor IT systems and collaborate with other teams to improve support processes.
