Job summary
TEKsystems is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide end-user technical support in Chicago, IL, on a contract basis. The role covers on-site and remote assistance for desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices, with emphasis on resolving incidents through ITSM ticketing systems and ensuring smooth operation of user environments.
The ideal candidate has 2-5 years in similar roles, solid Windows 10/11 knowledge, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and basic networking.
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of desktop/tech support experience.
- Experience with Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory.
- Familiarity with ITSM/ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management, Remedy).
- Imaging/deployment tools and device lifecycle understanding.
- Basic networking: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs.
Responsibilities
- Provide on-site and remote support for desktops, laptops, mobiles, printers, and peripherals.
- Resolve service requests and incidents via ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, OS, and network issues.
- Install, image, and deploy computers and mobile devices.
- Assist with user account administration and permissions.
