Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists in Houston is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to own the newly established HR function for a NW Houston commercial construction company. This is the first dedicated HR role supporting about 50 employees, with the CFO previously handling HR, and a clear path to shape practices as the company grows.

The ideal candidate is proactive, hands-on, bilingual English/Spanish, and strong in benefits administration, onboarding, and policy development.

Qualifications

5-7 years of HR Generalist experience.
Strong hands-on experience with employee benefits administration.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Proactive and self-directed with the ability to take ownership of the HR function.
Collaborative, team-oriented approach in an all-hands-on-deck environment.

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day administration of employee benefits and serve as benefits resource.
Review HR processes and identify opportunities to improve organization and efficiency.
Develop and streamline onboarding processes and procedures.
Assist with development and coordination of the internship program.
Create and update job descriptions across the organization.
Support and coordinate the employee wellness program.
Establish HR processes as the first dedicated HR professional.
Maintain organized employee and HR documentation.
Partner with leadership on HR-related needs and initiatives.
Take ownership of day-to-day HR responsibilities and assist where needed.
