Job summary

Burnett Staffing Specialists is seeking an on-site Payroll Practitioner/Human Resources Assistant in Northwest Houston to support daily HR operations and payroll processing. The role reports to the Corporate Human Resources Manager and involves handling payroll, HRIS data, and employee records.

Responsibilities include processing payroll transactions, reconciling discrepancies, tracking leave, maintaining files, and assisting with HR initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree desired but not required.
• One to two years of general business experience with a concentration in Human Resources preferred.
• General knowledge of employment laws, HR practices, payroll practices, timekeeping processes, and employee recordkeeping requirements.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll transactions, including regular wages, overtime, deductions, adjustments, and other payroll-related payments.
• Review time sheets and related information to detect payroll discrepancies and reconcile.
• Track leave time (PTO, FMLA, STD) and other approved absences.
