Job description

We are partnering with a fast-growing, small-sized (50 EE) technology company actively growing and scaling in a very "of the moment" industry, in the Houston area, to find their first Human Resources Manager — a hands-on leader ready to continue building out the HR function as the company scales. Open to an experienced generalist with strong recruiting, compensation benchmarking, performance management, and hands-on day-to-day execution of HR, ready to step into their first-ever leadership role, OR an experienced candidate who has previously been an HR department of one for a small, growing and scaling company. Either profile is a great match.

If you've spent the majority of your career at large, highly matrixed organizations with layers of HR specialists, dedicated HRBPs, and established shared-services teams to lean on, this role is not the right fit — this is a build-it-yourself seat with no team behind you, not a step into an existing structure.

If you're comfortable wearing every HR hat yourself, thrive without a big team or established playbook, and get energized by building HR infrastructure from the ground up at a small, high-growth company, then this is a great role for you and I'd love to connect.

This is a very exciting opportunity to step into a true department-head role where you'll set strategy and roll up your sleeves to execute. If you love building infrastructure, professionalizing processes, and shaping the employee experience in a high-growth environment, this one's for you.

What you'll do:
  • Build on the existing HR platform and professionalize/formalize HR processes and systems to support rapid growth
  • Lead talent acquisition across operations and corporate functions
  • Develop compensation structures, performance frameworks, and retention initiatives
  • Strengthen compliance, policies, and the overall employee experience
  • Manage day to day HR administration and operations
What we're looking for:
  • Progressive HR experience, in a small-to-mid-sized, high-growth organization is a MUST.
  • Broad exposure across recruiting, comp & benefits, performance management, training, and retention
  • A track record of building and scaling HR infrastructure (policies, compliance, org structure)
  • Strong command of U.S. labor law and HR compliance
  • A pragmatic, hands-on operator who can both lead strategically and execute day-to-day
Details:
  • On-site in Houston, TX
  • Reports to the Chief Administrative & Strategy Officer

Salary : 80-110K, 5-15% DOE bonus with growth over time as the company grows and scales
