Burnett Staffing Specialists in Houston is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to own the newly established HR function for a NW Houston commercial construction company. This is the first dedicated HR role supporting about 50 employees, with the CFO previously handling HR, and a clear path to shape practices as the company grows.

The ideal candidate is proactive, hands-on, bilingual English/Spanish, and strong in benefits administration, onboarding, and policy development.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of HR Generalist experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with employee benefits administration.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Proactive and self-directed with the ability to take ownership of the HR function.
• Collaborative, team-oriented approach in an all-hands-on-deck environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day administration of employee benefits and serve as benefits resource.
• Review HR processes and identify opportunities to improve organization and efficiency.
• Develop and streamline onboarding processes and procedures.
• Assist with development and coordination of the internship program.
• Create and update job descriptions across the organization.
• Support and coordinate the employee wellness program.
• Establish HR processes as the first dedicated HR professional.
• Maintain organized employee and HR documentation.
• Partner with leadership on HR-related needs and initiatives.
• Take ownership of day-to-day HR responsibilities and assist where needed.

HR GENERALIST | $80K-90K | NW HOUSTON A commercial construction company in Northwest Houston is looking for an experienced HR Generalist to take ownership of its newly established HR function. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys taking ownership and making an impact. This will be the company's first dedicated HR position, supporting approximately 50 employees. HR responsibilities have historically been handled by the CFO, so this individual will have the opportunity to take ownership of the function, establish and improve processes, and help shape HR practices as the company continues to grow. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, hands-on HR Generalist with strong benefits experience who is comfortable working independently while also being part of an "all hands on deck" team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs and serve as a resource for employees regarding benefits
• Review existing HR processes and identify opportunities to improve organization, consistency, and efficiency
• Develop and streamline employee onboarding processes and procedures
• Assist with the continued development and coordination of the company's internship program
• Create and update job descriptions across the organization
• Support and help coordinate the company's employee wellness program
• Establish processes and procedures for the HR function as the company's first dedicated HR professional
• Maintain organized and accurate employee and HR documentation
• Partner with leadership on HR-related needs and initiatives
• Take ownership of day-to-day HR responsibilities while remaining flexible and willing to assist wherever needed

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of HR Generalist experience
• Strong hands-on experience with employee benefits administration
• Bilingual English/Spanish required
• Proactive and self-directed with the ability to take ownership of the HR function
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Commercial construction or construction industry experience is a strong plus
