Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join our international firmware organization, based in Liberty Lake, WA or Waseca, MN.

The role involves developing firmware for residential, commercial, and industrial products, with emphasis on design, debugging, and validation across the full lifecycle. The ideal candidate has C/C++ expertise, embedded programming experience, and familiarity with RF and networking protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience.
• C/C++ experience is preferred.
• Scripting experience (Python, Ruby, PowerShell, Linux shell, C#) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware and unit tests in C/C++ for a range of products.
• Assist in design, documentation, development, debugging, validation and maintenance of code.
• Debug and validate firmware, identify and resolve defects.
• Support products post-deployment through lifetime for upgrades and end-of-life support.
