Job summary

Rural King is seeking a Firearms Sales Associate to deliver exceptional customer service and expert guidance in firearms and related accessories. You will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, assist customers in selecting products, and maintain a safe, organized displays and sales floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; firearms safety training is a plus.
• Previous experience in firearms sales or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding firearms sales and transfers.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to listen, ask relevant questions, and provide thoughtful responses.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy.
• Proficiency in using computer systems for transaction processing and record-keeping.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure shopping environment.
• Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and create a welcoming atmosphere in the firearms department.
• Engage customers to understand needs, preferences, and budget constraints.
• Provide expert guidance and unbiased product recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with all firearms laws and regulations.
• Complete required firearms compliance training and SOP knowledge.
• Assist customers in selecting ammunition, accessories, and related products.
• Maintain organized firearms displays with accurate labeling and pricing.
• Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including documentation.
• Stay updated on firearm trends, models, and industry news.
• Listen and address customer concerns, escalating to supervisor when needed.
• Build long-term relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
• Demonstrate product features and conduct demonstrations as needed.
• Utilize upselling and cross-selling techniques to maximize sales.
• Promote RK Firearms Plus Protection Plan and loyalty programs.
• Support visual merchandising and store cleanliness in the firearms area.
