Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Service Technician to perform service, repairs, troubleshooting, and installation of portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites. The role involves reading blueprints, managing daily service calls, and handling a range of systems from multiple manufacturers.

The position requires 4+ years in fire suppression or related service environments, strong communication and organizational abilities, and PC proficiency

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in fire suppression or similar service environments.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer-facing service and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Manufacturer certifications are a plus (ANSUL, Kiddie PyroChem). Local or state licenses as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems.
• Service, troubleshoot, and install equipment from various manufacturers including Simplex and ANSUL.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational manuals.
• Manage daily service calls, customer activity, and program system products.
• Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazard systems.
• Assist customers with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation for emergency service.
• Perform inspections of suppression gas systems as per contract requirements.
