Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. seeks a field service technician to perform service and repairs on portable fire extinguishers, kitchen hood systems, and suppression gas systems at customer sites.

You will read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals, manage daily service calls, and work with various manufacturers. The role requires on-site presence, strong communication, and problem-solving skills, with on-going training.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Outstanding customer facing service and problem-solving skills.
• PC skills including Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform service and repairs on Portable Fire Extinguishers, Kitchen Hood Systems & Suppression Gas Systems at customer sites.
• Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and product manuals.
• Manage daily service calls and customer activity.
• Work with clean agent systems, dry chemical systems, and special hazards.
• Assist customers with questions in a timely and professional manner.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for Emergency Service.
• Inspect suppression gas systems based on contract requirements.
