Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to create layout drawings for commercial, industrial, and residential projects. You will apply NFPA codes, perform hydraulic calculations, and prepare master drawings with AutoCAD, Revit, and related CAD tools.

You will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure safety and code compliance. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of fire sprinkler design experience and NICET certification.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of fire sprinkler design experience.
• Strong understanding of hydraulics and fire protection systems.
• NICET certification (Level II or higher) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design fire sprinkler systems and hydraulic calculations.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers and contractors to ensure code-compliant systems.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA, local and state codes.
• Assist with proposal documents and technical data as needed.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in engineering, drafting or related field is preferred

NICET certification (Level II or higher) in Water-Based Systems Layout is preferred
