Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design and prepare layouts for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The ideal candidate understands NFPA codes, hydraulic calculations, and CAD software.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of fire sprinkler design experience
• Experience with AutoCAD and CAD software tools
• NICET certification (Water-Based Systems Layout) preferred

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes and standards to sprinkler system designs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and reports.
• Develop working layouts and final master drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors and managers.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and material takeoffs for jobs.
