Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to create layout drawings for sprinkler systems across commercial, industrial, and residential projects. You will work with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure code compliance and client satisfaction.

The role requires strong knowledge of NFPA standards, hydraulics, and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks). Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering or drafting is preferred, with NICET certification favored.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting or related field preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD.
• Experience with CAD software such as Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, AutoSPRINK, BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes and standards to design sprinkler systems, water supplies, pumps, standpipes, foam systems, and storage tanks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, PDFs, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Develop working layouts and final master drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers/consultants and other team members to ensure code-compliant designs.
• Analyze hydraulic calculations, plot plans and material lists for the job site.
