Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design and prepare layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The role requires a solid understanding of fire protection codes, hydraulic calculations, and CAD software, and involves collaboration with project managers, engineers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD.
• NICET certification (Level II or higher) in Water-Based Systems Layout preferred.
• Basic understanding of mathematics and physics related to hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes and standards to design fire sprinkler systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and reports.
• Develop working layouts and final master drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers/consultants and other personnel to ensure code-compliant designs.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare material lists for site.
• Assist with proposal documents and technical data.
