Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design and prepare layout drawings for fire sprinkler systems in commercial, industrial, and residential settings. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire protection codes, hydraulic calculations, and CAD software.

You will read blueprints, perform hydraulic calculations, coordinate with engineers and contractors, and ensure compliance with NFPA and local codes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD required.
• Experience using Microsoft Office and CAD software — Autodesk.
• NICET certification (Level II or higher) preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s in engineering/drafting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes to the design of sprinkler systems and related components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and reports.
• Develop working layouts and final master drawings.
• Coordinate with engineers/consultants and other personnel for code-compliant systems.
• Design fire sprinklers, standpipes, pumps, and underground systems.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and prepare material lists.
• Assist in preparing proposals and technical data.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA and local/building codes.
