Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is seeking a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician to support customers at various retail locations nationwide. You will install, service, and repair cabling and security systems, read blueprints, and provide technical escalation both on-site and remotely.

The role requires CT licensure, NICET preferred, and driver’s license with a clean record. Daytime schedules with some nights, travel up to regional areas, and a company vehicle after orientation.

Qualifications

• CT C6 Electrical Journeyperson license required.
• Field installation experience in Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control.
• NICET certification preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70/72 standards.
• Experience reading blueprints/site maps.
• Ability to travel regionally (CT/RI/MA) and spend nights as needed.
• Proficient in MS Office and email communications.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment for IP Video, Access Control, Intrusion, and LAN/WAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings and drill/conduit work.
• Ensure systems meet codes and contractual requirements with complete installations.
• Program fire alarm control panels and test systems for operability.
• Mount sensors and access locations; perform site surveys and planning.
• Coordinate with lead technician and project manager on schedules.
• Provide on-site and remote technical escalation support as needed.
• Maintain safety standards and proper documentation for each job.
