Job summary

Wachter is seeking a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician to install, service and troubleshoot cabling and security systems at retail locations nationwide. The role requires a Texas Fire Alarm license, field installation experience, NFPA knowledge, and the ability to read blueprints; you will work safely, communicate clearly with customers, and maintain reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Current and Valid Texas Fire Alarm License.
• Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm / Intrusion / Access Control.
• NICET certification preferred.
• State required Physical Security and/or Life Safety license in applicable technology.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 and 72 standards.
• Day schedule 8 am–5 pm with some night shifts.
• Willingness to travel up to 20–30% and work nights as needed.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control / Intrusion Alarm / LAN/WAN infrastructure, and wireless LAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings with drilling and conduit work.
• Ensure complete wiring and terminations for access control and intrusion systems per contractual requirements.
• Install or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels per plans and layouts.
• Mount sensors and access locations; drill holes and access crawlspaces/attics as needed.
• Test new systems and ensure compliance with codes and safety requirements.
• Collaborate with leadership on on-site schedules and timely equipment delivery.
• Troubleshoot installations to meet local, state, and insurance requirements.
