Job summary

Wachter, Inc. is hiring a Fire Alarm/Intrusion/Access Control Service Technician to work at various retail locations nationwide. Looking for self-motivated technicians who can work independently on service and installation projects with long-term opportunities and strong benefits.

Expect day shifts with occasional nights; travel up to 20-30% and potential overnight stays. A company vehicle is provided after orientation; NICET and state licenses are preferred.

Qualifications

• Field installation experience in security environments: Fire Alarm /Intrusion / Access Control.
• NFPA standards knowledge (NFPA 70 & 72).
• Ability to read blueprints and site maps.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record; no DUI/DWI in 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and repair cabling systems and equipment in IP Video, Access Control / Intrusion Alarm / LAN/WAN.
• Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit bending work.
• Complete wiring, connections/terminations, and equipment installations for Access Control and Intrusion systems.
• Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels as per plans.
• Mount sensors and access locations; drill holes for cabling and access crawlspaces/attics.
• Ensure compliance with electrical and fire codes; test systems for functionality.
• Adhere to project safety requirements per Wachter and OSHA guidance.
• Assist Installation Team Lead/PM with on-site schedules and timely delivery of equipment.
• Troubleshoot new installations to meet codes and insurance requirements.
