Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician in the United States (Las Vegas area). You will install, inspect, service and repair fire extinguishers, pre‑engineered suppression systems, and Detection & Control systems with minimal supervision.

You will use tools and test equipment, follow NFPA codes, troubleshoot components, document work orders, and travel frequently to client sites while maintaining safety and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• State or any required certification, preferred.
• 2 Fire Life Safety Industry experience specifically within Fire Suppression.
• 2 years of professional computer skills.
• Must be able to travel 90% of the time.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Use required tools and test equipment to repair or replace fire extinguishers, pre-engineered systems, and/or Detection & Control systems components.
• Comprehensive knowledge of NFPA codes, standards, and systems.
• Troubleshoot and identify defective components of pre-engineered suppression systems.
• Repair or replace damaged components of pre-engineered suppression systems as well as fire extinguishers and/or Detection & Control systems.
• Communicate with internal and external customers professionally.
• Be punctual to required work locations and complete scheduled projects in a timely manner.
• Use Field Service Lightning to track work orders, materials needed, time on job, etc.
• Complete documentation on work orders.
• Follow SFS safety programs and keep documentation accessible.
• Ensure company vehicle is clean and maintained.
• Attend training sessions to stay updated on technology, codes, and standards.
