Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician to install, inspect, service, and repair fire extinguishers, emergency exit lights, and pre-engineered suppression systems with minimal supervision. Strong NFPA knowledge and ability to read codes are required.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting components, using Field Service Lightning, documenting work orders, and maintaining safety protocols. Must be able to travel up to 90% nationwide and possess a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• State or any required certification, preferred.
• 2 Fire Life Safety Industry experience specifically within Fire Suppression.
• 2 years of professional computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Repair or replace fire extinguishers, pre-engineered systems, and Detection & Control components.
• Troubleshoot and identify defective components of pre-engineered suppression systems.
• Communicate with internal and external customers in a professional manner.
• Use Field Service Lightning to track work orders, materials, time on job, etc.
• Complete documentation on work orders.
• Follow SFS safety program, attend toolbox talks, and maintain safety documentation.
• Ensure company vehicle is clean and well maintained.
• Travel 90% of the time.
• Attend seminars or training to stay updated on technology, codes, and standards.
