Job summary

Summit Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Suppression Technician to install, inspect, service, and repair fire extinguishers and pre-engineered suppression systems. You will repair components, troubleshoot issues, and ensure compliance with NFPA codes while delivering professional customer service.

Duties include using diagnostic tools, documenting work orders, and maintaining safety standards; travel up to 20% is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• State or any required certification, preferred.
• 2 Industry experience specifically within Fire Suppression.
• 2 years of professional computer skills.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to travel 20% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Use tools and test equipment to repair or replace fire extinguishers and pre-engineered systems.
• Know NFPA codes, standards and systems related to extinguishers and suppression.
• Troubleshoot and identify defective components in suppression systems.
• Repair or replace damaged components of suppression systems and extinguishers.
• Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Be punctual to work locations and complete projects timely.
• Document work orders and use Field Service Lightning for tracking.
• Follow Safety, SDS, and Hazardous communication procedures; participate in toolbox talks.
• Maintain company vehicle and attend ongoing training; mentor trainees.
