Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to create layout drawings for commercial, industrial and residential sprinkler systems. The role requires knowledge of fire codes, hydraulic calculations and CAD software, and collaboration with engineers and project teams.

The ideal candidate will interpret architectural plans, perform hydraulic analyses, and produce cost-efficient, code-compliant designs while coordinating with field teams to ensure quality installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, drafting or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in fire sprinkler design and AutoCAD.
• Experience with CAD software including Autodesk AutoCAD, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks; AutoSPRINK, BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Apply fire protection codes and standards to design fire sprinkler systems, water supplies, pumps, standpipes, foam systems, and water tanks.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and reports for layouts.
• Develop working layouts and master drawings; prepare proposal documents and technical data.
