Job summary
Stantec Buildings is seeking a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to support design teams on building life-safety projects. You will assist with code research, hydraulic calculations, and the layout of fire protection systems in REVIT or AutoCAD under supervision.
The role requires pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering, junior or senior standing, and coursework in fire protection design.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
- Incoming junior or senior year standing.
- Completion of courses in fire protection design and/or life safety analysis.
Responsibilities
- Apply concepts to support design projects including fire suppression, detection, and smoke control systems.
- Perform basic calculations using standard software.
- Gather information to support design decisions.
- Assist in preparing designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Collaborate with architecture and engineering professionals under supervision of a senior engineer.
- Assist with construction support during submittals, RFIs, and inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
