Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a Trainee Inspector to learn fire protection inspection and 24-hour service under supervision. You will assist Inspectors, gain knowledge of NFPA codes, and develop expertise in sprinkler, alarm, and suppression systems while completing weekly training documentation.

Responsibilities include testing and maintenance under supervision, adhering to safety programs, and progressing toward NICET certification. Strong reading, math, and teamwork skills are required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems preferred.
• Ability to read and follow NFPA codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Inspectors during inspections, testing, and maintenance.
• Complete on-the-job training documentation each week.
• Develop knowledge of NFPA codes and life safety standards.
• Differentiate between inspection deficiencies and required service.
