Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking a trainee to gain a working knowledge of fire protection inspections and 24-hour service under direct supervision of an Inspection/Service Technician. You will assist Inspectors during inspection, testing, and maintenance, and complete weekly on-the-job training documentation.

As you progress you’ll study NFPA codes, NICET training cycles, safety policies, and the requirements for NICET Level II certification within about a year.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 0-2 years’ experience inspecting fire protection systems preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Experience with Salesforce and ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Inspectors while they inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems.
• Develop knowledge of NFPA codes and life safety standards.
• Perform testing and maintenance under supervision.
• Complete weekly on-the-job training documentation.
• Differentiate inspection deficiencies from service needs.
• Follow safety programs and participate in toolbox talks.
• Attend Inspector training and NICET-related sessions.
• Work toward NICET Level II certification within the training program.
• Other duties may be assigned.
