Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking an experienced Inspector to inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems, including sprinkler systems, pumps, and backflows. The role requires working independently with a focus on safety, documentation, and customer communication.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of relevant inspection experience, a HS Diploma or equivalent, and NICET/state certifications per location.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• NICET and/or state certification required based on location.
• 3–5 years’ experience inspecting fire protection systems; 5+ years’ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes with knowledge of sprinkler controls, alarm panels, devices and critical components.
• Record and report deficiencies of fire protection systems to Summit Fire & Security (SFS) and Customers.
• Communicate with internal and external customers as well as offsite monitoring companies in a professional manner.
• Use and operate inspection tools such as heat and smoke detector kit, backflow kit, and pump equipment.
• Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled; be on-call as required by location.
• Attend seminars to stay updated on technology and testing approaches; train inspector trainees.
