Job summary

Summit Fire & Security is seeking an Inspector to inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision. You will document deficiencies, communicate with customers, and ensure proper use of inspection tools while coordinating schedules and staying current with safety policies.

The role requires 3–5 years of relevant experience, a HS diploma, and NICET or state certification as applicable by location.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting fire protection systems is required; 3–5 years preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication.
• Physical ability to perform inspections and operate related tools.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems per NFPA codes.
• Record and report deficiencies to SFS and customers.
• Communicate with customers and monitoring companies professionally.
• Operate tools for inspections (detectors, backflow kits, pumps).
• Plan, coordinate, and complete inspections as scheduled.
• On-call status as required by location for emergencies.
• Maintain company-provided vehicle and safeguarding tools.
• Follow Safety program, SDS, hazards policies; participate in toolbox talks.
• Attend seminars to stay updated on new technology and testing approaches.
• Train inspector trainees in applicable areas.
