Job summary

Accura Engineering seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, TX. You will lead fire/life safety system reviews, ensure UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA compliance, and coordinate with project teams and government personnel across all phases.

The role requires a PE license and 5+ years of experience in fire protection engineering, with strong writing and communication skills for documentation and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited college.
• PE license required.
• Minimum of five years of Fire Protection Engineering experience.
• Knowledge of UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and fire/life safety requirements.
• Experience with quality assurance, commissioning, and acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.
• Strong writing, communication, and project coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide fire protection engineering support for federal construction projects (Fort Hood, TX).
• Serve as SME for fire and life safety systems and ensure UFC/NFPA compliance.
• Perform reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, and acceptance testing.
• Coordinate with project teams and government personnel throughout all project phases.
• Review RFIs, contractor submittals, and field changes; provide technical comments.
• Schedule and conduct final acceptance testing of fire protection systems.
• Document findings and provide guidance on facility design and construction features.
