Job summary

Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. seeks a Fire Protection Engineer to support federal construction projects at Fort Hood, Texas.

You will serve as the subject matter expert for fire and life safety systems, ensuring compliance with UFC 3-600-01, NFPA standards, and applicable codes across design reviews, inspections, QA, submittal reviews, acceptance testing, and coordination with project teams throughout all phases of construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum five years of fire protection engineering experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA standards.
• USACE or federal project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Establish understanding of UFC 3-600-01 and NFPA requirements.
• Attend project meetings and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Perform reviews of BCOES and plan-in-hand.
• Conduct inspections per project documentation and contract.
• Provide technical guidance on fire protection systems.
• Review contractor submittals and RFIs; respond with comments.
