Job summary
IMEG is hiring a Fire Protection New Graduate in Des Moines, IA. This entry-level role offers hands-on design and analysis of fire protection systems with mentorship, training, and opportunities to grow your expertise from day one.
You will contribute to projects across public-safety, industrial, and federal facilities while supporting planning and quality control. Ideal candidates hold a BS in Fire Protection or related engineering, with internship experience preferred and EIT or NICET
Qualifications
- BS degree in Fire Protection or related engineering field
- Internship in building design consulting preferred
- EIT license preferred
- NICET Level I/II certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Design and analyze fire alarm, fire suppression, and smoke control systems per code and IMEG standards
- Interact with clients to understand needs and build relationships
- Support project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines
- Document design decisions and client instructions
- Analyze low to medium complexity tasks and propose solutions with senior guidance
- Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions
- Contribute to quality control to meet IMEG standards
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices
- Prioritize safety and mitigate potential risks
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions
