Job summary

IMEG Corporation seeks a Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join our Des Moines, IA team and support design, budgeting, and documentation for fire protection systems. This paid, mentored internship runs 10–12 weeks and offers exposure to public-safety, industrial, and federal facility projects.

Interns work with experienced engineers, gain hands-on project experience, and have potential for future full-time roles within IMEG's 100% employee-owned ESOP environment.

Qualifications

• Two years completed toward a BS degree in Fire Protection or related engineering field.
• Prior internship experience in building design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design portions of fire protection systems in buildings.
• Research equipment and supporting resources.
• Support project budgeting and cross-functional collaboration.
• Document design decisions, notes, and client instructions.
• Coordinate information with architects, structural, electrical, mechanical teams.
• Review project documents for accuracy before final check.
• Assist with addenda and periodic site observations.
